What is Success in Life
What is success in life? You have undoubtedly asked yourself this question, but the answer is often unsatisfying, because you are probably not sure of the basis on which success is judged.
Since everyone rightly wants to be successful, it is logical to decide what is the normal and desirable attitude towards success, On the basis of experimental investigation, the following qualities are known to be necessary in attaining and enduring a feeling of success:
- The successful person must be intellectually honest with himself and with others.
- He must be inwardly stimulated to do his very best, and not compare the results he attains with the supposed results of others.
- The truly successful person contributes to the welfare of others and is rewarded by the satisfaction of having helped others.
- There is a great deal of success in the sense of being at peace with oneself and with others;to get along with people and to realize that everyone is human being and may be expected to display varying reactions to favorable and unfavorable situations.
There are some people who chronically make excuses for their lack of success and are never satisfied with their position in life, and tend to complain about the unfairness of others. They are the people who have a false value of success ;the desire to be superior. Such a desire destroys happiness. On the other hand , if the desire fo success comes from a wish to improve oneself and to be of some use to others, it can be very satisfying.
